National STEM Day: History, Facts, & Clever Content Inspiration
National STEM Day is celebrated every year on November 8, regardless of the day of the week.
National STEM Day was launched in 2015 by MGA Entertainment to generate wider interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. The date was chosen as a creative play on the calendar: Nov. 8 = innovate.
Since then, National STEM Day has grown from a classroom event into a worldwide celebration of creativity, curiosity, and discovery. Schools, museums, and even tech companies use the day to honor how STEM shapes everything from the gadgets we love to the breakthroughs that make life better.
It’s also a reminder that science, technology, and math belong to everyone. National STEM Day encourages kids and adults of all backgrounds to experiment, ask questions, and see themselves as future innovators. Whether you’re coding your first app, launching your first rocket, or just marveling at how Wi-Fi works, November 8 is your chance to celebrate the science of wow.
